Digitalization – VHS cassettes and more

It all got easier with the digital video format. But what happens to all the old and analog media carriers which contain personal treasures – how to preserve them and why should this be done?

The reason to digitalize cassettes seems obvious: The magnetic tape of the cassette is protected by a plastic case but the tape itself only lasts about 35 years. Storage conditions are essential, ideally all cassettes are placed vertically without any amount of heat, UV light or moisture. Nevertheless, with increasing age there’s no guarantee for the recordings to be played flawlessly.

We offer to digitalize your memories. Be it birthdays, association festivities, childhood recordings, family celebrations or 1992’s summer vacation – your analogue cassettes relive a second spring through us and will remain unchanged timelessly. We digitalize and safe data on media servers, in a cloud solution, as data or on DVD. We’ll save data in 720 x 576 px (PAL format) as MPEG4 or MOV codec H.264 with an audio quality of 47 kHz with 16 kbits/s.
