The reproduction of cine films is difficult and is very expensive in the private sector. Today it is possible to copy Normal8 substandard films onto media such as USB sticks or DVD and process them further.
Very good results are achieved by direct scanning of substandard films. The films are not projected nor scanned but recorded in the film window of converted projectors. The speed of the projector is modified for this. Special lamps with brightness control and a special lens are essential. You get a flicker-free video with no hotspot and no blurring. However, the camera used for this must be able to capture the high contrast range of the substandard film. Otherwise, the details in the light and/or dark image sectors will be lost.
Since no sound pick-up is possible with Super8 film scanners from Reflecta, Somikon or Rybozen, we do not use them. Most of our customers have recordings including a soundtrack, which is what we need to save as well. Memories on cassettes or cine films are very precious and unique, so digitization should always be carried out professionally and by a specialist.
Your films are saved in excellent ProRes HQ-Full HD or in 4K quality with a Full HD resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels or in 4K UHD with 4096 x 2160 pixels. We digitize exclusively using the so-called direct scanning process using a “full frame super 35mm” sensor, workshop-tested and specially modified Bauer projectors. Post-sharpening, color correction and the cutting of start and end points are free components of your order.
Reinigung von Staub, Fusseln, Filmkörnern und Agfa Flecken:
Wir bieten Ihnen zusätzlich zu unseren Digitalisierungs-Service eine vorab Standard oder Premium Reinigung ihrer Schmalfilme an. Dies hat den Vorteil, das Bildmaterial frei von Bildfehlern professionell zu digitalisieren und ihre Erinnerungen eine hochwertige Qualität zu verleihen. Das Standard Verfahren beinhaltet das reinigen von Staub, Fusseln und Filmkörnern auf ihren alten Schmalfilmrollen. Bei "Agfa Flecken" ist der Premium Service von nöten.
Bei Moviechrome Filmen kommt es in den meißten Fällen vor, dass diese Schmalfilmbänder mit einen Pilz befallen sind. Es handelt sich hierbei um Filme aus den 80 Jahren von "Agfa Moviechrome", hiervon sprechen wir von "Agfa Flecken". Dieser Pilz setzt sich nach Jahren auf den Filmband ab und wie auf den Bildern und Videos zu erkennen, erziehlt dieser Eiskristalle und Flecken auf den Super8 Bändern und lässt ihr Material sehr wolkig und verschmutzt wirken. Im Nachgang beim digitalsieren flackert das Bild sehr. Ein sauberes Endergebnis erziehlt man hier nur, wenn der Film vorab handisch mit großen Aufwand und einem spezial Filmreiniger gereinigt wird.
